An all-time favorite is now presented in Waveform Sound Generator. Guitar Tabs X refines features for AGCscript user satisfaction. Check the details at Music & Audio.

Step By Step To Install Waveform Sound Generator

This is a sound or signal generator with one oscillator. It can play custom wave form so you control the number, direction, amplitude and sharpness of the peaks.

This instrument clearly demonstrates the physics of the sound and most importantly you can see that humans do not hear frequencies but amplitude acceleration (or peak sharpness). Also the peak position or direction inside the sound wave has no impact of human perception for the sound. You can even hear 0.2Hz sound of the peak is sharp enough and the frequency (self repetitiveness) of the signal is not actually meaningful for our ears. In nature there are no perfectly repeated waves and the sound has more free wave nature so what is important for our sound recognition abilities is the peaks sharpness and the number and amplitude of those peaks :)

Frequency domain and FFT for music can’t be more wrong and misleading.

So work in time domain and handle those peaks to move the science and music ahead!

The app can be used for physics, music or sound, education or what ever.

Oscillator range 0.2Hz - 20KHz

Arbitrary waveform with up to 20 peak control points.

Peak width control slider.

They don't mention it until you've used them up, but you only get 20 seconds of playback before the app demands you pay for it. Never even warned me about it as I was installing. Didn't even have a chance to understand what was really going on before I ran out. A real bait and switch

amplitude accelerant? that's not accurate at all.it's actually background frequency.if u do a sweep long enough not only well u hear it u'll also be able to visualize it as well, like cascading triangles within.sweep ur freq up from say 12k sqwave, volume allway up sweep till u just pass 16k.and ur gonna notice something special about 16k.I discovered this on a longer sweep from 1hzsq up and suggest u try it that way if u don't realize from the shorter method.I discovered unwritten freq physics

Those 20 free seconds of demo were just wonderful. It left me wanting more, so I could well envision a market for 5 or 6 more seconds of that. You may be on to something here.
